Mr. Maurice Lewin


Mr. Lewin was a member of the 2003 graduating class of the University of the West Indies Masters program.  He has subsequently chaired the UWI HRD Alumni Foundation.

He was the Human Resources Manager for the Jamaica Heritage Trust, whose mission it is to inspire a sense of national pride through the promotion, preservation, and development of our material cultural heritage, utilizing a highly motivated and qualified team in conjunction with all our partners.    

Maurice Lewin is the Director of Human Resource and Corporate Affairs for Jamaica Foundation for Life Long Learning; which began in 1973 as the Jamal foundation.  As an agency of the Ministry of Education, JFLL supports the UNESCO goals of basic education of all by 2015, and the national drive towards the achievement of universal secondary education (grade 11). 

This concise view of Mr. Maurice Lewin employment history demonstrates an individual who is devoted to nation building and preserving our distinct cultural heritage. Mr. Lewin’s presentation was focused on Meeting Management.

Sandra A. Samuels


Miss Sandra Samuels is an Aesthetician and most importantly an Entrepreneur , the Managing Director of the 15 year old Totally Male Limited, the only business in the Caribbean that caters to the aesthetic and clothing needs of men only, catered to by women only.

A graduate of The Queen’s High School and Immaculate Commercial, she started working officially at the age of 18 years.

She started her career in customer service at The National Water Commission in 1982. In 1986 she realized her dream of becoming a Flight Attendant with Air Jamaica which lasted for 9 years, where she honed her customer service skills. She was made redundant in 1994, which now offered her the grand opportunity to open her own business.

Armed with her practical skills along with Certification received from the U.W. I. and UTECH, The Face Place- School of Aesthetics, University of New Orleans and her life training she has conducted grooming courses and Motivational talks for several institutions such as Service Clubs, BNS, RBTT, Pulse, UWI, UTECH, LOJ and the Office of the Prime Minister just to name a few. As an employer for over a decade Miss Samuels is well equipped and well versed in the knowledge of customer service, grooming requirements and employees needs.

Miss Samuels is a member of the Women Business Owners, a member of Jamaica Cancer Society/Jamaica Reach to Recovery the breast cancer support group where she was one of the pioneers/warriors in getting the word out to the Jamaican public on early detection, as she is a 10 year survivor herself. She is a member of the Rotary Club of St. Andrew North as she is a stanch believer in giving back. She is a member of the Jamaica Wellness Cluster, The Day Spa Association & The Fashion Cluster. She is a part time teacher at The HEART School of Cosmetology teaching Barbering and also a member of the Management Advisory Committee of the school. She has most recently won the Jamaican leg and went on to be one of 3 winners of the Caribbean in the Pioneers of Prosperity Awards Caribbean region.  She is currently one of the winner of the NCB Nation Builders Award 2009 in the area of Women Business Owners.

Claudette Gordon- McFarlane


Ms. Gordon-McFarlane is currently a senior manager at the Housing Agency of Jamaica Limited with responsibility for Human Resources and Administration. She has a Masters in Consulting Psychology and a Bachelors in Management Studies. Her unique philosophy is reflected in her Master's thesis which provides a robust change management model. She is currently writing her first book Transforming Organizations slated for publication in August 2010.
